The 8099 from Brunton, Sports Afield's 1998 Editor's Choice Award, eliminates the magnetic needle. Simply align the two circles for accurate bearings.Dual cover assembly allows for quick one hand operation. Remove the protective rubber shoe and open the second cover for complete map work with the scaled base plate. Attached with a lanyard, the quick reference cards contain compass instruction, a GPS coordinate finder, (UTM) and survival information.
